Bitumen 60/70
Penetration grade
The harder standard grade for hot climates and heavy traffic loads.
The designation gives the penetration range: a standardised needle penetrates between 60 and 70 tenths of a millimetre at 25 °C. The smaller the value, the harder the binder. In hot regions and on heavily loaded roads the harder grade prevents rutting, because it yields less at summer temperatures.
